Our Organisation
Executive Council
An Executive Committee appointed as a Board of Directors, is responsibility for all aspects of the Association. An Annual General Meeting is held each year to elect or confirm the Council to undertake the general management and control of the Association for the ensuing year. Terms of Office are generally two years and all functions of the Association are carried out in accordance with the current Constitution.

AMCA Associations in other State and Territories come together under the form of a very strong and active National Body called the Air Conditioning & Mechanical Contractors’ Association of Australia (AMCA-A). This Body, located in Melbourne, promotes the industry’s cause on a national basis and is represented on all major industry committees ensuring all States’ collective interests are being looked after. AMCA-Queensland has sister Associations in all other States. Companies tendering in those States can obtain reciprocal information advice and direction.
What are our primary objectives?
Since our inception in 1964, we have directed our efforts to the following:
Promotion and development of Air conditioning, Refrigeration and Mechanical Services.
Engaging in the management, regulation and/or support of a practical system of apprenticeship training.
The development and management of technical or other forms of education for the training and development of employees at various levels in the air conditioning industry.
To undertake, commence, conduct or intervene in any proceedings in support of members.
To promote and encourage a high standard of technical performance and general business conduct of members.
To support and protect the status and interest of members.
To represent the views and wishes of members
To consider and promote reforms of the law and its administration in relation to the industry.
To support other associations whose aims and activities are conducive to the attainment of these objectives.
To develop a credible voice for air conditioning matters to regulators and any Government departments.
Our position
AMCA is the only industry and employer association exclusively dedicated to the air conditioning and mechanical services industry. Our members include majority of the most reputable major Commercial Mechanical Contractors, some medium sized Commercial and light Commercial contractors together with a substantial Associate membership comprising many equipment and service suppliers to the industry.
How do we conduct our business?
We have full time, part-time and outsourced consultancy services to ensure a lean organisation. We provide several services in through a range of expert service providers in key areas of commercial, legal and technical guidance, occupational health and safety, industrial relations and human resource management.
Industry promotion, parliamentary lobbying, support and infrastructure for education and training are functions carried out as activities of the Executive Director, permanent and part-time support staff.
